Teaching + Custom Orders

Did you know that I offer services, too?

Keep reading to see what I have available, and message me through the contact page, or via direct message on social media so we can chat.

Don't see exactly what you're looking for? Contact me anyway! If I can't make it happen I will do my best to direct you to somebody who can. My rates vary - some items are hourly plus materials, some are hourly, some are daily, some are by project - depending on the service. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada, so anything outside of the general area will require travel arrangements, shipping, etc.

Private Sewing/Quilting Lessons

Want to learn to piece, quilt, or bind? Want to try quilting with rulers on your domestic machine? Big stitch hand quilting? Paper piecing? Just bought or received a sewing machine and want to learn how to get started? Don't yet have a sewing machine but you're curious and want to know if this is for you? Let's do it! Want to do this as a small group? Great! I do that, too!

Quilty Companion Services

Know what you're doing sewing-wise, but don't love doing it or just want an extra set of hands? I can help! I'm happy to come over and pin, press, cut, baste, clip threads, seam rip, run between you and the ironing board, refill your wine glass…whatever quilty task you need! Sometimes we just want a little help finishing something with a deadline (that event is next weekend?!), or doing the quilty things we don't love doing, and sometimes things are just better with a companion.

Binding

I love to bind quilts..it's the last big step to finishing that beloved masterpiece. But if you don't feel like binding that quilt, I can do so by machine and finish it by hand, or by machine entirely. Don't know how to bind and want to learn? I can teach you.

Custom Pieces

Do you have something in mind that you want to start from scratch? Or maybe you liked something in my shop but couldn't stand the colors I chose and would like one in your favorite colors? I would be thrilled to work with you on the perfect minimal, modern custom piece! Please note that I do not make t-shirt quilts - there are lots of amazing people out there who do, and I am happy to provide a recommendation for someone who will work with you on that creation.

Bereavement and Burial Pieces

Bereavement Quilts

Oh, loss. There are so many types (illness or death of a beloved human or creature, miscarriage, abortion, divorce, surgery, broken relationships…), and we all process them so differently. I have made many small bereavement pieces over the years, and together we can come up with something special to honor your situation.

A few ideas… A pocket for a letter. A clear vinyl pocket for a keepsake. Using only natural materials so it can be buried or burned. Two identical items - one to keep and one to burn or bury. Significant colors. Using a quilt block with a name that reflects something about the situation. Incorporating fabric from a significant textile. Including a large label that allows you to write something directly on the piece. Loss of any kind can be so, so difficult (or sometimes - so, so liberating), but together we can gently come up with the perfect item to honor your personal situation.

Burial Quilts

If you wish to wrap the urn or box of your loved one's ashes in a quilt for burial, tuck a quilt into the casket, or wrap them in a quilt for direct in-ground burial (check local laws for this one) I can work with you on the perfect piece. It's also a thing now to have your own burial quilt that you can direct your friends and family to wrap you in when the time comes, and I would be honored to help create that perfect piece with you.

Pregnancy and Baby Loss Quilts

I hold a special place in my heart for pregnancy loss and infant death. These topics are obviously extremely personal, but if you are interested in a meaningful memento please don't hesitate to reach out so we can come up with something special to memorialize that precious piece of your heart. I've done a variety of pieces both before a loss (in heartbreaking anticipation), and after a loss, and I will gently work with you to come up with something to bring a smidge of comfort and a lot of love to your situation.
